Textured Sight - Opening Reception Jan 22

Getting ready for the show. This is my first solo gig and I'm on pins and needles. Below is the blurb I've been sending out to invite folks.

Textured Sight…paintings by Karen Phillips
Art show at The First Existentialist Congregation of Atlanta (The Old Stone Church)
January 10, 2010 – February 28, 2010
Opening January 22, 2010, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

470 Candler Park Dr., NE Atlanta, GA 30307

Painting sings to Karen’s soul…enticing, prodding, images begging to be made. It is her meditation. Ideas—ignited by color, texture, and nature—germinate from within and grow into inspiration, with a bit of obsession. Using acrylic paints and other materials, she creates layers of texture and color, inviting the viewer to discover what lies underneath. Karen paints at the Little 5 Points Community Center and resides with her husband, Wayne, in Lake Claire.
