Blogtoberfest 2013: Searching for new forms

There are times when I like to approach a blank sheet of paper with a paintbrush full of color and see what I can discover. A line here, a dab there and lots of drips lead to new possibilities for paintings.

What fun! Creating drippy shapes can lead to lovely discoveries. What do you do to find inspiration?

  1. Karen, you have inspired me to use circles in my next art project so today as I was getting my laundry room shelf cleaned up of extra cups that come off the soap bottles I thought of you and how nice a circle it would make by twisting it in wet paint...I kept them all...

  2. Love your playfulness and questions! I have to admit that dripping scares me and I don't want to clean up an image if it drips...maybe some day....What inspires me? The discovery that happens as I go along drawing and not knowing how things are going to turn out...kind of like a drip, but a mental one!
